Eric’s Promise Update:

1. The City of South Bend prides itself on Howard Park being a warming center yet yesterday they turned off the fire pits for the morning hours.

I called 311 and emailed the Mayor.

A. I asked the 311 rep. If you did not have a home and woke up in this cold, what would you do? Crickets. Exactly.

I also received the excuse that, “When the weather is consistently above 40 degrees that the fire pits are turned off.”

1. 40 degrees. That is still cold. People who are homeless still need that fire.
