Eric’s Promise Update: 😍😍😍

1. The fist bump ripple. Whenever I arrive for dinner at Hope Ministries I am always a bit leary. Some people haven’t showered, some are angry, some are displaced, some are high, some are talking about things that should not be talked about etc. So when someone familiar walks into the waiting area and makes me show my face, smile and give a fist bump my whole world feels lighter. This same man said that my smile will one day go across the world. (It already has but I haven’t told him that.) 😍

2. That encounter made me brave enough to give a fistbump to someone else and then to someone else. Growing up in an all white Catholic grade school and high school has made branching out a bit queasy BUT slowly and surely God has placed new cultures into my life starting in my 30’s. I am pretty much surrounded by men of different cultures at Hope Ministries.

3. God says to shine and let my joy light it all up. These encounters give me more courage to be the light in this dark place.

4. My new protector friend walked in right behind me tonight! I was so happy to see him. He not so much but by the end of the night he went out of his way to tell me to have a goodnight. A fight broke out behind us tonight and he was my shield. We also had a fruitful chat about knowing vs. believing. I told him that I both know and believe Jesus because the Holy Spirit confirmed that about my heart today. Yahweh says my heart is pure and in the purity of heart we automatically receive knowing. ❤️‍🔥😍

5. I was able to give a free meal to someone today as it was gifted to me and give out 3 blessing bags from Church.

6. Sat with my friend Billy for lunch today at the soup kitchen in the Methodist Church and laughter and comfort was had.

So much more but the rest is for my heart, mind and soul.
