The Lord God Almighty is taking me on a journey through the hands and feet of Jesus. As I experience the resources to help those in need, I will share them.

All things are a go.

All things Food! The Goodness of God right here in DTSB.

(Downtown South Bend)

  1. February 22nd – I had my first hot meal with the people of Hope Ministries. There are over 100 of us that receive these awesome services. I say services because it takes a village to run a well kept and smooth sailing kinda meal for the community.
  2. There is a warming center where you can wait your turn to eat
  3. Everyone is well behaved and it is secure
  4. Mind your manners
  5. Be grateful
  6. Share in community love
  7. We all need to eat so let’s help eachother while doing it
  8. From the website of Hope Ministries:

“Lunch and dinner are served daily at Hope Ministries, free of charge to anyone in need. All are welcome.

  • Lunch: 11:45 am – 12:30 pm
  • Dinner: 6:30 – 7:30 pm
  • Location: 423 S. Lafayette Blvd, South Bend, IN”

Next Up! By God’s Hand, I made it to my first soup kitchen lunch today, to eat with the community. It was a beautiful meal and my wisdom was tested and I passed with flying colors. February 23rd, 2026.

From the website of First Northwest United Methodist Church of South Bend:

ALL ARE WELCOME: Volunteers serve guests each week and assist with special holiday meal days for Thanksgiving, Christmas, and Easter. All people are welcome to visit and eat any day the Soup Kitchen is open.

THE MENU: Each week, the Soup Kitchen provides guests with unlimited hearty soup, buttery garlic toast or bread, salad or fruit, dessert, and beverages.

ADDITIONAL SUPPORT ITEMS FOR ALL: A giveaway table provides donated items, such as additional food and hats, scarves, gloves, or socks for our guests to pick up.

HOW WE DO IT: Serving Monday, Wednesday, and Friday, cooking begins at 7:30 AM where 4-6 huge pots of hearty soup are prepared with special recipes. Volunteer numbers increase as the morning progresses, acquiring the 8-10 folks it takes to make the day run smoothly. Volunteers are welcome from 7:30 AM to 1:00 PM on days when the kitchen is open. The doors are open to guests at 11:30 AM to 12:30 PM.”
