God always prepares us but I want to share something in hindsight. Hindsight tells me that God was sharing with me when I didn’t realize that this is what He was doing. If I had known, I would’ve acted differently. Instead I was clueless, not understanding that He was giving me an entire storyline for what I was going to see in my ministry of coloring with the people and honoring my brother Eric.
First and foremost He put me up against a whole flock of shamans aka wolves. I was so naive and innocent and sheltered. I thought the best of everyone. I loved everyone. I was so full of love that I had rose colored glasses on. God never does anything on accident though. If He wanted me to understand He would have given that to me.
Bottom line is Jesus. Bottom line is Hope, Reuse and Recycle. Bottom line is knowing the people we help are buried by demons because they haven’t accepted Christ as their Lord and Savior. Even if they say that they have that isn’t enough. Their hearts have to be cleansed. They have to forgive. The true testing of someone’s Spirit comes from seeing if they have forgiven those who hurt them. If they have then they understand it was never about them.
Let’s not mistake forgiveness for being a human doormat though. We can forgive and keep our distance. Those that carry dark hearts will do outlandish things to hurt innocent people so protect yourself and keep God’s Grace in space.
The people they can’t forgive are simply being swallowed up by the pit and are blinded by it. Some people are faulted by it but some people are just abused their whole life with no fault of their own. They are blinded by abuse and evil. We are to be patient with them but understanding that these souls are in desperate search of healing and they will try to hurt you if not healed.
This is where discernment comes in. We must always look at someone from a place of healing. How healed are they? Then go from there. We simply build our own relationship with Jesus and make it so strong that our discipleship then receives the authority as spoken in the Word. We trample snakes and scorpions and we cast out demons.
I went into my line of work not understanding the magnitude of this because I hadn’t read the Bible myself. I grew up Catholic and had a cookie cutter understanding of Christ. All of the beautiful messages were kept within but I didn’t know what picking up crosses meant. I didn’t understand that I would be thrown to wolves. It wasn’t until I was being devoured that I was led to Mary Magdalene, the rosary and St. Joseph.
What if I told you that the Holy Family to me is actually partly Mary Magdalene. I love her so much and the way God showed me her and does to this day can’t keep me from believing what hasn’t been written or has been written and kept from the people. The truth of her as Christ’s partner in such a way that has no words. Even if it was written I am sure that the full truth is only understood by God and God alone. The Egg. The Resurrection. The devotion. The faith. It screams real testimony of loving someone so deeply. That is what sets her apart. She loved Jesus so much, like no other. Come to think of it, that is why we are set apart too. We love Christ so deeply that we don’t even think like the rest of the world. We grow up and are called sensitive. Too sensitive. We grow up and are seen as stupid when we really just don’t comprehend the way people hate. We are set apart for God’s Purpose simply because we live in a way that most people don’t.
This love is the door. This love is Jesus. This love does miraculous things. It’s simple. We are here to teach people what it means to love. “They will know we are Christians by our love.” If you call yourselves a CHRISTIAN AND DO NOT LOVE YOU are not a Christian. The Word says that too. If you say that you love God and hate your brother or sister you do not truly love.
Unhook yourselves from being a victim and see it all for what it is. God is love and the devil is hate. It’s simple.
A Valentine’s Day Mission that prepared me to protect my little bro, a community at large and now a worldly mission.
I was able to unload this piece to a Center for Healing in Tennessee back in 2014. This piece became the Supply I needed from God to get to South America. I met my first Shaman there. Never heard of that word nor studied it nor cared but it was plain as day as I walked the streets of Cusco during a riot. God had whispered the word Shaman to me.
Rioters came dashing down one of the streets as I was in an art museum. Fire. Knives. The whole bit. We hurried and closed the century old door of the art museum so they couldn’t come in. I continued to look at the art calmly like nothing bad was happening. Calm as a cucumber. I even walked down to the center square of Cusco and ate pizza amongst hundreds of police officers. They were all decked out in their gear, shields and were posted all around the square. I found it funny somehow and fascinating. Maybe it was because I was so focused on my purpose that nothing phased me. Yes. That is it. Very good.
After eating pizza I was led to a Shaman. He explained my being as a sponge. That also makes sense as to why I am able to understand and see the things that I do. I am a holy and sacred sponge covered by the blood of Jesus Christ, co-existing with utter chaos of the world at large. I went on this mission trip to honor my brother Eric and to color with the children. This has always been my way to honor Eric. Art and children. This mission trip left on Valentine’s Day 2014. That is the day my bro died and made a better life for us all. It was the least I could do. He died so I could live. He died so I knew what it meant to truly give my life to Christ. He died so we had an example to live by. My bro, my cover.
In 2015 I started an exploding Heart Art Giveaway. This flowed into honoring Eric by holding an event to benefit St. Vincent de Paul Society with live music and food. My art was given to everyone who walked in the door that night. Eric was a brilliant Artist too. One of his pieces was framed and hung in my parent’s house. Woven blocks of color. Love it. The way we connect with Eric and his loving heart is limitless.
