There is a place in New Albany, Indiana called The Hour of Power. This is a church that has an open soup kitchen every Tuesday starting at 5.
This one is very unique as there is a very special lady that sings hymns before we eat. A man, a 90 year old man at that, who looks to be about 60, prays and speaks to all the people. He not only speaks but is the most down to Earth guy.
Those two attributes alone are enough to provide a Holy environment to eat, share in the goodness of food provided by God.
All around us are pictures of Jesus and a very uplifting environment.
I met a man named Mike there and am sure to make a point to care for his life when I see him. He is homeless and living the best way he can.
This place, an Hour of Power, is within yet another city that I was led to last year. All throughout my pilgrimage last year God kept showing me the Power of Adoration, sitting with the Eucharist at a church, for an hour. He also showed me that by doing this we release in our obedience a very precious Act of God.
Have you ever tried to do that? Talk about hard! 🙂 Haha. Sitting still with The Lord is probably one of the most trying times you could ever experience. Patience. Stillness. Executing direct communion with everything Sacred without distractions from the outside world is truly The One and Only Hour of Power.
When I was delivering my Our Lady of Lourdes piece to get framed at an Art Store, a painting of Jesus in the Garden of Gethsemane was directly on the table as I handed in this piece. This is one example of what occurs in my life on a daily basis. When I create Art for God, this is what He does.
Mind you, the connection being this: The Betrayal and Jesus asking his disciples to stay up for an hour and pray for Him. This is exactly why I have been led to “The Hour of Power.”
“Matthew 26:40
New International Version
40 Then he returned to his disciples and found them sleeping. “Couldn’t you men keep watch with me for one hour?” he asked Peter.”
God is handling it. In Jesus’ name. Amen.
