Quality.

Although Eric was 17 when he died the quality of the years he lived that impacted others is timeless. That’s what Jesus tells us to do: Lay up treasures for Heaven. Don’t waste your time and money on things that are not eternal. Serve God with all your strength, mind, heart and soul.

God keeps saying Quality over Quantity. He also says to tell Eric’s story but the one that no one else knows.

When everyone’s response was “That’s Mary’s thing” (my Mom Mary Molnar) I was still there. When people who initially were there for Eric’s Promise left, I was still there. When God’s Plan seemed too hard, I was still there. When people looked at me and judged me for grieving 24 years later, they failed to understand that I was doing exactly what Jesus tells us to do. “Pick up your cross and follow me.”

When Mom needed help with this Promise I dropped it all to be there. When I was in Colorado God had me shift to helping the homeless at the same time the merger with Goodwill was happening. Not my plan but God’s.

When I was in Colorado God kept showing me things about “Home” and the real truth behind the reality of Eric’s life and death. The battle of good vs. evil and ultimately what is required to hold the front lines. Courage. Wisdom. Knowing. A solid relationship with the Lord Jesus Christ. It’s true that if you build anything without giving God the Glory that He will tear it down. He will cause utter destruction if the Y isn’t told, true and real.

The Glory goes to God. The creation is His. The Y is the love for Eric and all of the kindness that he was through the faith of Jesus Christ. Eric’s faith was the last turning of it all. His faith in heeding God’s direction for Lent. It wasn’t in listening to parents, friends or alike. It was all in listening to God. That’s wisdom. That’s courage. That’s the right thing to do no matter what it looks like to others. No matter what, do what God tells you. God sees all, knows all and is all.

Tune in. Talk to God. The road will be less travelled but it will be full of miracles. You will never ever have a dull moment and it will all be full of love, God’s love.

in Jesus’ name. Amen.
Love, Melissa, Eric’s sister
